It is common to see the children suffering due to poor dental health. There can be various factors responsible for it starting from the eating habits to brushing habits of the children but recently one new factor has been uncovered, that is under-resourced public dental care system.
There are many patients of age under 10 has came to dental clinic in Jalandhar who have either gum problem, cavities or some other dental issues when the concerned dentist tried to find out the reason for this dental problem in the early age when he came up with the answer that there is no regular checkup have been provided by the public dental care system.
Indian Dental Association (IDA) is the primer organization of dental professionals that have the motive to improve the oral health of the people by spreading awareness in them about the oral issues and by providing them the best oral care that has been given by the innovative measures.
IDA ensures the time to time seminars, dental checkups, and some oral health programs in the schools and colleges to aware and helps the students to have the best oral health. Now this association has exposed the unacceptable length of time for which students have to wait for public dental care and even for not having sufficient resources to provide best dental care services.
Due to underfunded and under-resourced public dental services people have to go to private clinics and even in the schools’ no one visit to have regular checkups for best dental health so the children remain deprived of the best dental services, as a result, they could have poor oral health.
Children are more prone to poor dental health due to their unhealthy eating habits and even they are careless about the proper cleanliness of their teeth and mouth but awareness programs and seminars can help them to get escape from the dental issues. Even the children are entailed for three essential screenings of their teeth first in the age of 5 then in 6 and the third one in the age of 7 approximately but if you visit the schools then children will tell you the reality that they have not seen any public dentist in the schools.
Due to lack of public dental services, studies have revealed that children have more issue of tooth decay and other gum problems. Some parents could not afford the regular check-ups of their children’s teeth in private clinics due to which children are suffering.
